Students come to Irish from all different backgrounds and experiences.  When coming to Irish, we take care to evaluate each child to create a language immersion and academic program that will best fit his or her needs.  All kindergarten and first grade students enter into the dual language program, learning literacy in their first language, and learning 50% of their math, science, and social studies times in their second language.  Literacy groups and languages are adjusted as students learn and grow.  In grades 2 through 5, students enter the dual language program as appropriate, determined by a team of parents, teachers, and the student.  Dual language instruction can be modified depending on the student’s motivation, academic levels, and language immersion experience.
