Hi There! I am excited to be teaching at Irish this year. I'm originally from Fort Collins and grew up here before moving to North Carolina and then on to Chicago. I'm happy to be back in Colorado and especially excited to be teaching at such a great school.
I attended Fort Collins High School before traveling to the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While playing soccer at UNC, I studied History and Spanish. After graduating from college, I moved to Chicago where I began teaching. I recently completed my Masters in Teaching and Learning with a Bilingual and ESL concentration from St. Francis University in Illinois.
I love being around students and watching them surprise themselves with what they can do and achieve. One thing I really enjoy is teaching math and having lots of projects and challenging activities for students to work through. I also love reading and hope that my students cultivate a love of reading as well.
My favorite children's books are The Giving Tree by Shel Silverstein, The Miraculous Journey of Edward Tulane by Kate DiCamillo, and all sorts of poetry.
Some of my hobbies include playing and coaching soccer and basketball, hiking, snowboarding, playing card games with my family, cooking, traveling and learning about history.
I love how helpful and kind all of the Irish staff has been so far. I'm also really excited to get to teach so many amazing students at our school this year.
