About Us

Irish Elementary was built in 1968 and was named in honor of Mrs. Jean Powell Irish. Ms. Irish served as teacher and principal for the Poudre School District for over thirty years. She always felt it was important to work to the best of one's ability and always encouraged her students to find satisfaction in doing their best. The motto of our school is: Encendemos la Chispa De la Grandeza—We Spark Greatness. Our mascot is a jaguar and our school colors are blue and white.

A primary focus of Irish Elementary is to prepare children to be lifelong students and productive members of a diverse society, staff, and community. We want to involve them actively in a process that will allow them to communicate and cooperate effectively, and troubleshooters be high quality by learning from different cultures and languages. We provide their children with various learning experiences designed to meet these goals. We believe that every child is unique, and teachers recognize and respect the needs of everyone. We will help each child to acquire and develop the knowledge and skills necessary to achieve academic excellence.

Irish Elementary is a place for growing children. It is our commitment to this growth cultivation encourages parents and teachers of Irish to support and help students realize their potential as productive citizens in the global community.
